Dave Gelly had chosen to talk about Ivie Anderson at Ellington ’97. He was a writer on jazz for The Observer’s Grammophone  and other publications,  was also a broadcaster on jazz and played tenor saxophone. Gelly also wrote the first book ever on Lester Young.

In his presentation, he gives the basic facts about Ivie and show movies in which she sings, starting with the Marx Brothers A Days At The Races.
