The other day, Storyville announced that it has issued a CD with Ellington’s second concert on 13th March, 1964 in the Tivoli Garden‘s Concert Hall in the center of Copenhagen.

The restored and remastered CD has 14 tracks and starts with Take the ‘A’ Train, Black and Tan Fantasy, The Mooche, and Creole Love Call and then follow “Harlem” and Happy Reunion.
Next on the CD are The Impressions of the Far East Suite: Amad, Agra, Blue Bird of Delhi, Depk, and Isfahan and it ends with selections from Timon of Athens, including Banquet Scene and Skillipoop, and Kinda Dukish & Rockin’ in Rhythm, and Jones.
Missing from the concert are The Opener, Wailing Interval, Stompy Jones, The Prowling Cat, Tootie for Cootie, Isfahan, Satin Doll and C Jam Blues.
Before Copenhagen, Ellington played concerts with the same program in London, Stuttgart and Stockholm then later in Berlin and Paris.
