This is the first presentation of the conference. It was put put together by a team from the Smithsonian Institution’s Ellington Collection led by Annie Kuebler. The team included also Scott Schwartz, Ben Pubols and Ted Hudson.
It is a multimedia presentation called Swingers for the Cause and is very interesting. It gives a historical overview of Ellington’s musical life commented upon by key members of the Ellington. Kueberley is the one who keeps everything together and use material from Oral History interviews if I understamd it correctly.
