I think it is time to go back to this very well organised Study Group. So far the website has published presentations by Mark Tucker, Jerry Valburn, Alice Babs, Buck Clayton and Ron Collier but more will come before the end of this month.

However, the organising committee had put together a very ambitious music program as well. Every day there was a long concert by Canadian musicians or musicians coming from the other side of the American border.

The first night a trio with Oliver Jones (piano), Neil Swainson (bass) and Fraser Mac Pherson (tenor sax) provided a swinging one hour and a half concert of Ellington music.

Here is the second part of the concert. It starts with Oliver Jones and Neil Sweinson playing Satin Doll, Lush Life, It Don’t Mean A Thing and Solitude. Then Mac Pherson joins and the trio plays I Let A Song Go Out Of My Heart, I Don’t Know About You, Just Sueeze Me, In A Mellow Tone and Take The “A” Train.
