The second panel at Ellington ’97 was about Ellington’s Brittish Tour in 1948. Peter Newbrook chaired it and the members were Kay Davis, Gloria Nance, Jack Fallon, Malcolm Mitchell and Tony Crombie. Their talks about the tour are intersected with some videos with the Ellington bands stormy arrival to England, Kay Davis singing and Johnny Hodges playing.
The panel ends with Kay Davis taking the stage to demonstrate how she used to sing.
